EARLY INTERVENTION • SPEECH & LANGUAGE• Occupational Therapy• LITERACY

We provide therapy in a fun and engaging manner specific to each child's needs. We combine child-led, play-based, literacy-based, structured therapy, and gestalt-language approaches to deliver individualized therapy.

At Mar Speech Therapy, we believe in a collaborative approach and welcome parents and caregivers to participate in therapy sessions. We also provide home practice for clients when it's appropriate.

EARLY INTERVENTION

Combining play and parent coaching, we provide early intervention services to help children develop communication and social skills such as:

  • increasing vocabulary

  • using words and gestures to communicate

  • following directions

  • engaging in back and forth play

We will follow your child's lead during the session to keep them engaged in learning. Parents will also learn strategies for supporting learning at home.

LITERACY

We specialize in Orton-Gillingham  — a multi-sensory approach addressing your child's reading and writing needs. This specialized reading instruction engages all of the student's senses to help with learning, including seeing, feeling, hearing, and moving. Literacy therapy will help your child improve skills such as:

  • reading comprehension

  • spelling and sound-letter correspondence

  • writing
